GazeHawk is Hiring!
GazeHawk is looking to grow our 6-person team. We're a well-funded Y Combinator startup making eye tracking affordable and commonplace. We have a patent-pending technology that lets you run eye tracking studies without custom hardware or software. The biggest challenge now is figuring out how best to expose it to our customers (and who our customers are).
Business Development
You'll get to pick your own title, but here's a subset of your responsibilities:
- Handle interactions with enterprise and SMB customers
- Help acquire or produce presentations, case studies, and other sales material
- Provide input into strategic positioning of our products
Two challenges we're currently working on:
- Eye tracking is fairly common in the advertising industry, but low-cost webcam eye tracking is not. What is the appropriate balance between presenting ourselves as an alternative to traditional eye tracking and selling ourselves as the disruptive service that we are?
- There are many ways to get participants for an eye tracking study: intercept studies, panels, email lists. What is the right way to present and price these options without requiring an unnecessary amount of decisionmaking on the client's part?
Things that make you seem awesome (suggestions, not requirements):
- Experience with account management, enterprise sales, and/or business development
- A desire to be at a startup (and acknowledgement of the stress that comes with it)
- Experience in the world of advertising (ex: at agencies)
- The ability to provide self-direction, create value without requiring specific tasks, and "get shit done" when need be
Job nitty-gritty:
- Full-time position
- We provide benefits (health, vision, and dental), equity, and a competitive salary
- We're in Mountain View, CA (on Castro St)
To apply, use the LinkedIn button below or email jobs@gazehawk.com with whatever it takes to convince us you're awesome (A resume is a good start).
Looking forward to meeting you!
Engineering
You'll get to pick your own title, but here's a subset of your responsibilities:
- Code webpages: admin tools, user reporting, payment processing, etc.
- Write tools to support our customer reporting: heatmap generation, statistics caching, exporters, etc.
- Write JS to execute on other websites (that means domain security restrictions, obscure environments, and needing to break gracefully)
Two challenges we're currently working on:
- Eye tracking gives you a ton of data with a lot of dimensions. We want to show that data to our users in a way that's easy to parse. That means interactivity: HTML5, Canvas, JS.
- We run our code on cached copies of people's webpages, but these cached pages still need to work. There are a ton of edge cases, and we'd like to handle them as elegantly as possible.
Things that make you seem awesome (suggestions, not requirements):
- JS & jQuery/PHP/Python (in rough order of importance)
- A desire to be at a startup (and acknowledgement of the stress that comes with it)
- Proven experience writing complicated web applications (and the ability to distinguish between a website and a web application)
- Appreciation of clean, well organized code balanced with the ability to "get shit done" when need be
Job nitty-gritty:
- Full-time position
- We provide benefits (health, vision, and dental), equity, and a competitive salary
- We're in Mountain View, CA (on Castro St)
