The paper was 'poor man's eye tracking' or something like that from a number of years ago. But here's another example, it blurs out the rest of the page instead of blacking it out, so that you have to move the mouse to focus on an area: http://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=cache:ShCqWq6OcLEJ:www.dfki.de/~melis/Pub/hci03.doc+dfkeye&hl=en&gl=us&pid=bl&srcid=ADGEEShZvOoZgljUQTqWGqBD0llrD4V5_jhUemo1jhGhcWC3TDEZe8Mz1RSbOjS_sla9JRKJl1DwaVFgUfX3AC1zSZB0mrZEeVAllUP6hPS51JFNNuQTe4kXk7gj2gQnKRy_unJ2JJhO&sig=AHIEtbRyxuUPyJsYw0-GwplcXTpizqmhyg I lost the reference, but you can get even better mapping between mouse movement and the eyes by blacking out the page and have just a circle around where the mouse is that shows the content.
